Afghan army confirms killing of Taliban intelligence chief
[08/ February/2019]
SANAA, Feb. 8 (Saba) - The Afghan army has managed to eliminate the head of intelligence of the Taliban movement called Mullah Ahmed in air raid on the state of Helmand, southwest of the country.

Afghan media quoted state military representatives as saying that Mullah Ahmed and two other members of the group had been killed by an Afghan air strike last Wednesday targeting their convoy in the Nozad region.

The military representatives confirmed that Mullah Ahmed was responsible for planning and carrying out many attacks in the state, adding that his liquidation significantly weakened the movement's positions in the region.

For its part, the Taliban has not commented so far on the news of the killing of its intelligence chief.
