France raises security alert following Strasbourg bloody attack
[13/ December/2018]
SANAA, Dec. 13 (Saba) - French authorities on Wednesday raised the level of security alert in the country following the bloody Strasbourg attack on Tuesday night at the Christmas market.

French Interior Minister Christophe Castner. said in remarks quoted by Agence France-Presse that strict control measures had been imposed on the borders of the region and in all Christmas markets.

He said the government had raised the level of security alert in the country following the "terrorist" attack carried out by a gunman who shot at the Christmas market in Strasbourg and fled.

"The government has just decided to move to the level of an emergency attack, with strict border controls and strict controls in all Christmas markets in France, in order to avoid the risk of an attack mimicking the" Strasbourg attack.

France imposed a state of emergency after the bloody attacks in Paris in 2015. On November 13, it witnessed the worst attack in its history when gunmen attacked several sites, killing 130 people and injuring 350 others.

Among the targeted sites was the Bataclan Concert Hall in Paris' 11th arrondissement, bars, restaurants and Stade de France, north of the capital.
