North Korea criticizes US pressure on human rights abuses
[11/ December/2018]
SAANA, Dec. 11 (Saba) - North Korean media have criticized the US pressure on Pyongyang under the pretext of defending human rights, calling it hostile action.

North Korea said the United States' raising of human rights in North Korea was a tactic to gain concessions in stalled negotiations to disarm nuclear weapons.

North Korea's blacklisting as one of the worst trafficking countries is an "intolerable political provocation" and a "hostile act" that runs counter to the spirit of the June 2018 summit between the US president, North Korea's ruling party, Rodong Sinmun, Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

The North Korean website said that Washington imposed new sanctions on North Korea on Monday and placed top to North Korean leader on the blacklist, including Choe Ryong-hae, vice chairman of the ruling Labor Party, for involvement in human rights abuses.

The measures come amid a suspension of negotiations between North Korea and the United States on nuclear disarmament.
