China is succeeding in reducing carbon in its atmosphere
[21/ November/2018]
SANAA, Nov. 21 (Saba) - China has said it has succeeded in cutting its carbon footprint in line with its ambitious goal of three years ago, an achievement that will seriously contribute to slowing the consequences of global warming.

China has cut carbon emissions by 46 percent in 2017 compared with 2005, state media said on Wednesday.

In addition, China aims to reduce total carbon emissions on its territory by 45 percent by 2020, the target set by the government for the first time in 2009.

In a related context, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China revealed the role played by the clean energy sector (wind and sun) to rid the country of 425 million cubic tons of carbon gas.

Despite previous achievements, China's carbon footprint is still higher than in the rest of the developed industrialized countries, but at the same time China leads the world in the fight against carbon, followed directly by the United States.

China's policy of containing carbon ratios is based on several principles: the reduction of emissions, the strengthening of environmental control, and the creation of natural ways to absorb carbon.
