Moscow offers  vision for  settlement in Libya

SANAA, Nov. 14 (Saba) - Russia announced on Tuesday that it had presented a vision for the Libyan settlement to the participants in the international conference on Libya held in the Italian city of Palermo.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said that Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev held lengthy meetings with Libyan national army chief Marshal Khalifeh Hafter, head of the National Accord Government Fayed Sarraj, Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conti and other dignitaries participating in the conference and discussed with them Libyan settlement and preservation of the territorial integrity of country.

Bogdanov expressed Moscow's readiness to host a conference on Libya if the concerned parties were really interested in reaching real agreements.

Bogadanov added that almost all of them have visited Moscow individually, and if they have the desire and willingness to come to the Russian capital together at a certain time, we will be happy to welcome them," he said. "It is important to mature to make this meeting effective to ensure and Libya's territorial integrity and preserve its sovereignty.



Bogdanov explained that there are four major forces involved in the process of settlement in the country, is the National Accord Government headed by Fayez al-Sarraj and the Parliament Speaker Aqila Saleh and the President of High Council of State Khalid al-Maihri, as well as Hafter

The Russian diplomat said that he held meetings in Palermo with representatives of all Libyan parties, in addition to the UN special envoy Ghassan Salama, describing these meetings as useful.
