NEW YORK April 27. 2024 (Saba) - Beijing condemns again the Israeli repeated assaults on Syrian lands as serious infringement of Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity, the Chinese deputy representative to the UN said.
China sees that the Israeli persistent hostile airstrikes on Syrian lands raise deep concerns, Xinhua quoted Gang Shwang, as such acts would "further push the regional situation to go out of control."
China fully supports the Syrian government to take necessary counterterrorism measures, he added, calling the international community to respect international law and UNSC resolutions, reject doubled criteria, fight all forms of terrorism in Syria, increase assistance to Syria, and secure funding for all the early-recovery projects across the country.
China urges relevant countries to immediately stop their one-sided, illegal measures, and foreign forces should end their illegitimate military presence in Syria, the Chinese diplomat said.
