Meteorology predicts rain of varying intensity in number of governorates

SANA'A April 25, 2024 (Saba) -The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning expected rain of varying intensity in a number of governorates during the next 24 hours.

According to the weather forecast issued by the Centre, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), scattered rains of varying intensity, which may be accompanied by thunder at times, are expected in parts of the governorates of Saada, Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Amran, Sana’a, Dhamar, Raymah and Ibb.

Light to moderate rain is likely in parts of the governorates of Al-Dhalea, Al-Bayda, northern Lahj, Ma’rib, Al-Jawf and Hadhramaut Plateau.

The center explained that the amount of rain that fell during the past 24 hours, and was measured at some weather monitoring stations, was as follows: Al Dhalea: 16.5 mm, Dhamar: 5.5, Dhamar. Resabah: 0.6.

Scattered rain also fell on parts of the governorates of Saada, Amran, Sana'a, Raymah, Ibb, Taiz and Al-Bayda, and were outside the range of monitoring stations.

The Center warned citizens in areas where rain is expected to occur about the flow of torrents into reefs and valleys and advised against crossing them or being in their streams.

It also warned of lightning strikes and rock and mud slides when it rains, and of low horizontal visibility due to rain and low clouds.
