TEHRAN April 24. 2024 (Saba) - Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani commented on the suppression of American student demonstrations in support of Palestine, stressing the need for the American government to guarantee freedom of expression and assembly for university students and professors, and to respect their demands and legal rights.
Kanaani wrote, in a post on the “X” platform today, Wednesday: News reports related to the widespread repression and arrest of American university students by the police of this country, due to support for the Palestinian people, are a violent violation of freedom of expression and human rights, which has raised the concern of people in the whole world.
He added: It is necessary for the American government to adhere to its commitments in the field of human rights, guarantee freedom of expression and assembly for university students and professors, and respect their demands and legal rights.
He continued, saying: The American supportive role in the genocide of Palestinians at the hands of the Zionist entity will not be erased by creating a turbulent atmosphere and silencing the demonstrators.
