BEIJING April 24. 2024 (Saba) - Representative of the Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China for Taiwan Affairs, Zhou Fenglian, called on the United States to stop arming Taiwan.
Zhu Fenglian said in a press conference yesterday, commenting on the US Senate’s approval of the military aid bill for Taiwan: “We call on the United States to take concrete measures to fulfill its commitment not to support Taiwan’s independence, and to stop arming the island in any way.”
She noted that the draft law seriously violates the "one China" principle, the provisions of the three joint communiques of China and the United States and sends a signal to separatist forces calling for Taiwan independence.
Fenglian stressed that the Taiwan issue is China's internal matter and Beijing does not tolerate any external interference.
