BEIRUT March 28. 2024 (Saba) - The Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that it had delivered the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers copies of the letters and complaints it submitted against the Zionist enemy to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the President of the UN Security Council, since the beginning of the Zionist attacks on Lebanon last October, amounting to 22 complaints.
The Ministry said, in a statement, that Lebanon documented, through these complaints, the Zionist enemy’s violations of UN Security Council Resolution No. 1701, and urged the members of the Security Council collectively to condemn these attacks, and called on them to curb the Zionist enemy’s violations of Lebanese sovereignty and prevent the outbreak of a large-scale regional war. .
Some of these complaints also included Lebanon's detailed responses to Zionist allegations, accusing Lebanon of violating Resolution 1701.
In its letters to the UN Security Council, Lebanon presented a roadmap and vision for achieving sustainable stability in southern Lebanon through the comprehensive and integrated implementation of the aforementioned resolution.
The Lebanese Foreign Ministry’s statement comes in light of the Zionist enemy’s continued attacks on the Lebanese regions and the homes of safe civilians in the villages of the South, Baalbek, and Western Bekaa since October 8, 2023, when a Zionist raid targeted, at dawn on Wednesday, the center of the Islamic Medical Association in the town of al-Habbariyeh, southern Lebanon, killing seven martyrs.
In a related context, Lebanese Minister of Agriculture Abbas Hajj Hassan confirmed that his ministry had filed seven complaints against the Zionist enemy and its intention to go to the United Nations to prosecute it, against the backdrop of its targeting of 55 villages in southern Lebanon with phosphorous bombs.
Hajj Hassan announced that the Ministry is awaiting the end of the Zionist aggression to inspect the agricultural lands that were subjected to attacks.
He pointed out that the losses of the Lebanese agricultural sector due to the Zionist aggression are great.
