SANAA, April 20 (Saba) - Spokesman of the armed forces Brigadier Yahya Sarei on Saturday announced that Thi-Naem district of Bayda province was purged of Al-Qaeda and Daesh terrorist elements.
"Thi-Naem district has become fully secured from what so-called Al-Qaeda and Daesh elements and the aggression mercenaries after a successful military operation carried out by the army and popular committees," Sarei said in a statement.
The spokesman confirmed that the intelligence arms of the aggression forces from Daesh and Al-Qaeda suffered many casualties and heavy losses in equipment during the operation.
The operation came within the framework of the military operations inaugurating the fifth year of steadfastness and coincided with the first anniversary of the martyrdom of President Saleh al-Samad, he added.
