SANAA, Jan. 20 (Saba) – Chief of General Staff Maj. Gen. Mohammed Abdulkarim al-Ghemari on Sunday said that despite the aggression escalation, the military equation is no longer the same and Yemen has deterrent weapons and a more organized and qualified human force.

"The aggression (Saudi-led coalition forces) has forced us to defend our country and our forces in a defensive position from the very first moment of aggression," said Maj. Gen. al-Ghemari in an interview with the Defense Ministry-run September 26 website.

He stressed that the Yemeni people have the legitimacy of confrontation to defend their homeland, which is exposed to invasion and occupation and systematic destruction.

"The people of Yemen reject invasion and occupation and it is impossible for the enemy to achieve its goals," he said.

He added "We believe that the battle will end with the inevitable victory of the Yemeni people."

Al-Ghemari pointed out that those who read the battle of Yemen Western Coast militarily would find that the Yemeni fighter has exceeded the rules of war without air cover.

"The aggression put forward the demobilization of the army in the consultations and this plot failed in front of our political and military steadfastness," he said, affirming that the Yemeni people have a strong will and determination to bring about the required transformation at all levels.

He said that the military institution is still preserving its self despite the destruction it has suffering, and is working to strengthen its defense capabilities.

On the military leadership's position on the ceasefire calls and peace, al-Ghemari said "We have proved to the Yemeni people that we are with any initiative that leads to the cessation of the aggression and lifting the siege."

He indicated that the people's support for the fronts has brought down all the concepts that the aggression tried to promote under the slogans of soft war and peace winds.
