SANAA, Jan. 15 (Saba) - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov confirmed Moscow's readiness for serious work with Washington during consultations on the medium and short-term missile elimination treaty to be held in Geneva tomorrow.
The Russian news agency Tass reported that Ryabkov called on the United States yesterday to abandon warnings and pre-conditions in its dialogue with Russia on the subject. "Our interest in this communication is no greater than the interest of the United States in the circumstances we were in, "We still see attempts to send warnings to us or to put forward preconditions and demands that show a good deal of goodwill."
"This is not a reliable way of finding solutions to very complex problems," Ryabkov said. "We have enough goodwill and we are ready for serious action and we will see what we will get tomorrow.
US President Donald Trump announced in October that the United States would withdraw from the treaty signed with Russia on short and medium-range nuclear missiles, while Moscow has repeatedly rejected all US charges of violating the terms of the treaty.
