National Committee for Prisoners' Affairs flies to Amman for completing Sweden agreement stages
[14/January/2019]

SANAA, Jan. 14 (Saba) - The National Committee for Prisoners' Affairs in the Salvation Government on Monday headed for Jordan's capital Amman aboard an ICRC plane to attend meetings with representatives of the exiled Hadi's government to discuss the remaining stages of Stockholm agreement on prisoners file.

Abdulqader al-Murtada, head of the national committee for prisoners' affairs, said that the meetings to be held under the auspices of the United Nations aim to address problems and obstacles that have hitherto prevented implementation of the prisoner exchange agreement.

The head of the National Committee for Prisoners' Affairs, Abdul Qader al-Mortada, said that the meetings come under the auspices of the United Nations and that they aim to solve the problems and obstacles that have hitherto prevented implementation of the prisoner exchange agreement.

Hadi Haig, who is charged by the Hadi's government with the file of prisoners and detainees, said that the meeting would be held on Wednesday and that the agreement includes five stages, explaining that the agreement is suspended at the third stage.

The two negotiating parties submitted lists include 15,000 prisoners and detainees from both sides in a prisoner exchange deal during the UN-brokered consultations held in Sweden in December last year.

By hosting the Yemeni parties meeting, Jordan is trying to contribute to resolving the Yemeni crisis in coordination with the United Nations and the parties concerned with the conflict.
