SANAA, Jan. 12 (Saba) - The Ministry of Public Health and Population said that the year 2018 was disastrous for children in Yemen due to the continued aggression and siege imposed by the US-backed saudi-led aggression coalition on country.

During the past year, the Ministry of Health recorded 20,327 cases of malaria-infected children. The province of Hodeidah is ranked first, followed by the provinces of Hajjah and Taiz.

The ministry referred to death of a child every 10 minutes due to malnutrition or other diseases, according to a United Nations report issued in September 2018.

According to a report issued by the Ministry of Health, obtained by Saba, that about 1203 children were infected with Maltese fever, and Dhamar ranked first in the number of registered cases followed by Sanaa province, while 981 children were infected with rabies, and Dhamar was at the top of the list, There is a significant shortage of drugs for this disease.

The report pointed out that 1133 children were infected with leishmaniasis and topped the list of Dhamar, followed by Jawf , as well as 2,173 children infected with schistosomiasis, which is widespread in Hajjah and Saada.

It pointed out 330 children were infected with tuberculosis.

The report confirmed the spread of smallpox again in 2018 more than it was, where 12194 children infected with the disease and the capital and Sanaa province were the most affected areas of this disease ..



Indicating that 12995 children were infected with mumps and Taiz comes at the top of the list In the number of cases then Sanaa and Saada.

In 2018, the Ministry of Health recorded 3813 cases of dengue fever. Hodeidah, Taiz and Abyan are among the provinces where high number of cases was recorded.

The report pointed out that 1847 cases of meningitis, Taiz and the capital Sanaa are most affected areas.

The report revealed 657,802 cases of diarrhea and cholera-related diseases where 114,288 cases were recorded, of whom 145 died.

The report indicated 102 cases of neonatal tetanus, 509 cases of hepatitis B and c, 6940 hepatitis A and e, 2147 cases of pertussis and 15911 cases of measles.

The report referred to 14691 cases of typhoid, 45650 influenza, 958846 diseases related to the respiratory tract, and aloe, 437,100 diseases related to the lower respiratory system.

The report pointed out that 511 children under the age of five were infected with diphtheria, of whom 55 died.

The report also revealed that 2000,400 children under the age of five were infected with a disease or several infectious diseases during 2018, adding the same statistic cumulative malnutrition statistics for the same category, which number about six million girls, equivalent to 60 percent of this category, and are under danger of infectious diseases and malnutrition due to aggression and siege.
