SANAA, Dec. 11 (Saba) - Russia has rejected accusations that it was involved in the French protests, saying it was false and pure fabrication.
"Any claims about Russia's possible involvement in the protests are nothing but a slander," Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Pesko said in a press statement on Monday.
The spokesman added that the protests in Paris recently considered "an internal affair exclusively for France," and Russia "did not interfere or intend to interfere in the internal affairs of any other country, including France."
"Moscow attaches great importance to the development of its relations with Paris," he said, adding that the two countries were working hard to do so. "We respect French sovereignty, and we are grateful when we treat France similarly."
In response to journalists' demand to comment on France's involvement in the Paris protests, Biskov said: "I would like to correct, and to point out that the talk did not mention the involvement of Russia, as I heard from the statements, there was talk of supposed external interference before our friends rush to talk on Russia's involvement in the subject. "
Russia's position follows a report published earlier in the Times by a report claiming that hundreds of "pro-Moscow" accounts on social networking sites are inflating the yellow jackets.
"We have heard these rumors, and now the General Secretariat for Defense and National Security is investigating the case ... Let's wait for the results of this investigation," French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Laudrian said in a statement.
