Sanaa, Nov. 12 (Saba) - The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) has confirmed that it successfully returned a space-to-Earth cargo capsule for the first time.
The agency said it had recovered the capsule near the Ogasawara Islands in the Pacific Ocean.
Director of the technology center in the space agency Hirohiko Omatsu said he was impressed with the successful return of the capsule to Earth.
On Thursday, a spacecraft of the Connaughture 7 separated from the space station, circulating about 400 km in the Earth's orbit, gradually lowering its altitude to near Earth.
Japan had previously relied on American or Russian capsules.
