Women Union and ERQ alliance consider women status in the new constitution
[15/January/2015]

SANA’A, Jan 15 (Saba) - The Yemen Women Union and the alliance of Equality, Right and Quota (ERQ) discussed issues related to the status of women in the new constitution and the measures taken to adopt gender quota as determined in the National Dialogue Conference.
The two sides agreed that ERQ should postpone their meetings with the political parties until they settle on a clear formulation of provisions proposed for the draft constitution.
The meeting tasked the Union, through its chairwoman Fatehya M. Abdullah, to get the National Women Committee to join ERQ, an umbrella for pro-women organizations, in obtaining a copy of the draft constitution and coming up with comments on the draft.
