SANA'A May 06. 2024 (Saba) - The Supreme National Authority for Combating Corruption (SNACC) approved in its regular meeting on Monday, chaired by the Deputy Chairman of the Commission, Redan Mohammed Al-Mutawakel, the referral of 18 defendants in a number of serious corruption cases to the Public Funds Prosecution specialized in corruption cases.
The referral of the defendants to the prosecution comes to complete the procedures for initiating and filing the criminal case before the Public Funds Court specialized in corruption cases, as the size of the damage to public money in those cases amounted to 307 million and 160 thousand riyals.
The Authority also approved measures and procedures for seizing the defendants' funds equivalent to the size of the damage to public funds in the referred corruption cases, and suspending the defendants from work.
The Authority directed to complete the procedures of investigation, investigation, examination and review on the fate of the amount of two billion and 356 million and 241 thousand riyals, and to track down organizations that should have promoted and financed development projects in one of the governorates to benefit Yemeni society.
