TAIZ May 02. 2024 (Saba) - The Undersecretary of Taiz Governorate for the Development Sector, Abdul Wasa Al-Shamsi, and members of the development team in the governorate honored on Thursday a farmer in Mawiyah district.
The solar agent and the team members, the Director of the Agriculture Office, Eng. Abdullah Al-Jundi, the Coordinator of the Bunyan Salem Al-Ahdal, and the Director of the Agriculture Branch in Mawiyah, Ali Manea, praised the initiative of farmer Sadiq Al-Qahtani to replace the qat tree with the cultivation of maize, some vegetables and legumes.
The deputy governor urged all farmers to follow the example of al-Qahtani farmer and replace the qat tree with the cultivation of basic crops such as cereals and legumes to achieve self-sufficiency.
He praised the efforts of the Agriculture Office and the Knights of Development in the Directorate to raise awareness of the importance of agriculture and the importance of self-sufficiency and orientation to implement agricultural initiatives.
