SANA'A April 28. 2024 (Saba) - The Transport Minister of the caretaker government, Abdul Wahab Al-Durrah, confirmed the technical and professional operational readiness of Sana’a International Airport to send the guests of Allah to Holy Lands to perform Hajj and Umrah rituals for the year 1445 AH.

Minister Al-Durra indicated in today's meeting of the Board of Directors of the Civil Aviation and Meteorology Authority that preparations are underway to provide the best navigation services to transport pilgrims through Sana'a International Airport to Jeddah and Medina airports, which will contribute to reducing the burden on them.

He pointed out the keenness of the Revolutionary Leadership and the Supreme Political Council to pay attention to travelers in general, especially pilgrims, and to provide the best services , facilitate and expedite travel procedures through Sana’a International Airport, despite what it suffers from an illegal air embargo imposed by the US-Saudi aggression coalition.

He stated that Sana'a Airport is very popular with travelers due to the distinguished navigational and ground services it provides, the simplicity of travel procedures, its proximity to most of the provinces of the Republic, the security and safety it enjoys for travelers in accordance with the requirements and conditions applicable in international airports.

Minister Al-Durra praised the efforts of the Civil Aviation Authority in the professional and technical fields through the projects that were implemented at Sanaa Airport and the future projects included in its plan for the year 1445 AH/2024 AD, whether the National Vision Plan or the Authority’s strategic plan, with self-financing.

He stated that the Authority has technical and professional expertise that works around the clock to maintain navigational equipment and technical devices at Sana'a Airport, which provides services to UN aircraft and humanitarian organizations operating in Yemen and the six weekly flights to Jordan’s Queen Alia Airport.

The meeting, which was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport for Air Transport Sector, Abdullah Al-Ansi, and members of the Board of Directors of the Civil Aviation Authority, discussed topics related to the field of civil aviation and future projects to be implemented in the second half of the year 2024 AD.
