THE HAGUE April 26. 2024 (Saba) - Dutch Defense Minister Kaisa Ollongren confirmed that Ukraine will not be able to defeat Russia, noting that the situation on the front has become difficult for Kiev.
The Russia Today website quoted Ollongren as saying in a press statement yesterday: “We have seen that Russia was able to recover from the losses it incurred much faster than most experts expected, and moved to a war economy policy.”
She added: “This has worsened the situation for Kiev, and now there is a real possibility that the latter will ultimately not be able to defeat Russia.”
Ollongren described the current situation on the front as difficult for the Ukrainian forces with a shortage of ammunition. She also pointed to the fact that Russia was able to destroy the Ukrainian air defense, and that Ukraine needs to strengthen it.
Earlier this week, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu confirmed that Russian forces in the special military operation area have the initiative on the combat line of contact, adding: The loss of life and equipment is forcing Kiev forces to retreat.
