GENEVA April 23. 2024 (Saba) - The head of the International Human Rights Council delegation to the United Nations, Ambassador Dr. Haitham Abu Saeed, welcomed the report of the independent review of the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in Gaza Strip.
Abu Saeed said, in a television interview on Tuesday, from Geneva, that this report refuted all Zionist allegations and accusations regarding the work of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Refugees (UNRWA) in Gaza, calling on donor countries to continue to support the United Nations agency that carries out all relief and humanitarian work for the Palestinians.
The UN official stressed the priority of achieving a comprehensive ceasefire, increasing aid, and improving the situation in Gaza Strip, calling for strengthening the humanitarian services of the United Nations Relief Organization for the Palestinian People.
This statement comes at a time when the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the UN report on UNRWA.
It stressed that this report is a testimony to the commitment of the United Nations and the international community to preserve UNRWA’s mandate , ensure its continuity to guarantee the rights of Palestine refugees , find a just political solution, in accordance with international law and UN resolutions United Nations, especially Resolution 194 and the right of return for refugees.
