NEW YORK March 28. 2024 (Saba) - It is time to apply the UN Security Council Resolution calling for immediate ceasefire in Gaza, the Amnesty International said on Thursday hailing a UN report accusing the Israeli army of genocide in Gaza.

There are sensible reasons to believe that Israeli committed collective genocide against the Palestinians in Gaza, UN Commissioner for Human Rights in Palestinian territories, Franciscka Albanese, said late on Wednesday in a letter to the UN Council for Human Rights.

The UN report is very important and should represent an urgent call for international move, Amnesty's Secretary-General said.

The world countries need to honor their commitments under the anti-genocide treaty, and to take tangible measures to protect the Palestinians in Gaza, Anyas Kalmar added.

Other countries should exert political pressures on warring parties to apply the UNSC Resolution calling for ceasefire, she said.
