SANA'A, Dec. 03 (Saba) - The General Organization for the Preservation of Historic Cities in Yemen (GOPHCY) and the Social Fund for Development (SDF) launched on Wednesday a workshop for documenting and revival of traditional building methods in the old city of Sana'a.
Over a period of 14 days, The workshop aims to train 120 young builders on traditional construction methods in the old city of Sana'a.
At the opening of the workshop, deputy culture minister Mohamed Haidara stressed the importance of preserving traditional building methods, the most important of which is a traditional brick building.
On his part, UNESCO consultant Eng. Nabil Munasser indicated the importance of holding such workshops to contribute to providing specialists in this type of construction.
It is noteworthy that the workshop is part of the projects that are being implemented in the old city of Sana'a, funded by the European Union (EU) through UNESCO.
